    Hi,

I recorded some episodes of a tv series from a dvd recorder and I would like help on how I could remove commercials. These individual episodes are in vobs.

Are there free tools that I can use that do not require demuxing?

    Thanks in advance !!

ok... tried mpeg2cut2 but noticed that when i played the clip (in mpeg2cut2 even before doing any cutting or editing) the audio is out of sync with the video....

but when i played the same clip on media player classic it's ok...

am i doing something wrong in mpeg2cut2?...

MPEG Video Wizard DVD is good for what you want to do. I've used it with no synch issues.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

as i'm doing this as a one-off thing, i'm looking for a more "cost-effective" software...

I use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode and select what I want to keep, instead of what I want to remove. It turns each clip into a separate title instead of chapter, but it plays the same in most players. I believe it will only cut on I frames, so your time resolution is only about half a second (assuming a GOP of 15).

You can't make a judgement on audio sync when playing thru most editors.

I haven't used that tool, but go ahead and use it.......play the edited file in MPC and find out how it sounds. One time on the cheap and I would guess that you will never author and burn to DVD.

What do you have to lose?
