Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my laptop and cannot get it fixed. I've looked everywhere and can't really get a clear answer. What happens is, I'm typing but the text is appearing VERY slow on the screen. I've tried updating the driver for the keyboard in device manager, but that didn't help. I've only had this laptop for about a year, so I don't really think it's getting old. I have even tried reformatting my hard drive and installing a fresh WIN XP , yet the problem STILL REMAINS. I'm also having trouble with scrolling. If I hold down the arrow button it takes a VERY long time to scroll even 1 line down. Could anyone please shed some light on this. Thnx

Sounds like you have something taking up all of your CPU utilization.

Problem solved. It was the battery. Even though I had it plugged in, with the battery it still was messing up. I took out the battery and everything works dandy

Does it do the same if you boot in safe mode? You might also try using a free Linux distro that runs from a bootable CD, no permanent install, and see if you have the same problems. That would rule out most OS related causes.

Next I would go to the laptop manufactures website and download fresh MB drivers. You may have incompatible or corrupted drivers. If all else fails, try older MB drivers.

Last possibility I can think of is a failing motherboard.

Looks like you posted at about the same time I did and you didn't see it. Oh well, I took the battery out and it was perfectly. I guess the battery has gone bad or something and still messes up while its in and plugged it. I dunno haha thanks anyway!

That is strange. But glad you solved it and thanks for the update. Maybe low voltage to the MB? I run my laptop off a power brick most times, so battery condition is not much of a issue. And those replacement batteries can be pricey. Shop around a bit for the best deal. Stay away from some of those really cheap replacements.

My laptop won't even run without a battery installed.
