Maybe I cant figure out how to but it seems there is no option to have it shuffle the MP3's in a folder or on a disc/HDD...

Is there a workaround or RTFM?

    cheers

I don't think any Philips DVD players have this feature.

That sucks big time ... would it be worthwile when all owners here send a request to Philips? Maybe they update the firmware ....

Implementing shuffle play in a 2007 DVD player cant be rocket science and one wonders why its not in there from the beginning ...

According to the manual it can shuffle VOB.s WTF?

    Sure, you do that.

Philips hardly ever updates firmware to fix bugs. I seriously doubt they will implement new features. Best bet is to just find and buy a player that already supports what you want it to do.

The quality is the same, just a different transport medium (copper instead of fiber).

    Two possible reasons:
    1) Incompetence or laziness of the person who programmed the firmware to not support this.
    2) There are limits to what firmware can do and there just may not be enough space in the firmware to support this function without giving up something that other people would consider more important, such as the ability to fast forward and rewind video.
