Have tried to make backups of some movies lately using DVD Fab Platinum, which fails when it comes to write the disc.
I've then been successful making back ups of the same movies using either Nero ReCode, or, VSO Convert x to DVD.
Until this occurrence, which started this past weekend, I've had no problems with DVD Fab Platinum, and, havew been using it as my default back up making program.

And, the same is true for the brand of media I'm using, Veratim (DVD+R, rated for burning up to 16x. The cake box label says something about "advanced AZO."

Have I probably just ran into a bunch of bad DVD blanks? Do I need to reinstall DVD Fab? Ask Ahead what is the matter with ReCode?

Anyone with suggestions as to what is going one, please respond

The exact error would be helpful. At this point, depending on how many times this has failed and the actual error, it could be software, burner, or media.

In any event, it is simple enough to download and install the latest version of DVDFab (which you should be doing anyway) as it is continually updated.

Since I posted the original question, the problem seems to have disappeared. I have successfully used DVD Fab Platinum to make back ups of other movies with out problem.
