I'm a newbie.
I am using VCD galaxy dvd ripper.
THis 3 step process uses 1. DVD decrypter 2. DVD2AVI and 3. TMPGENC
I tried to rip Iron Monkey - I ran out of 'memory' on stage three. The disc seemed to be around 6-7 gig as read by dvd encrypter. I know that the disc has 3 audio tracks so it is rather large.
Anyway I started off with 10 gig free on hd. I have 228 meg of ram and a celeron 800 o/clocked to 900.
Basically have I enough resources to rip a dvd to vcd? If not what would I need.
Another question - the vcd galaxy guide suggests the save project stage on DVD2AVI could take 4 - 6 hours. At present I am ripping an 80 min single layer single audio channel disc and DVD2AVI tells me after 1hr and 10 mins that I have 15 hours remaining! Can this be right? HOw long does this stage take in YOUR experience?
Please help - its all so confusing and while I appreciate it is a complicated process I feel most guides are VERY FAR from comprehensive about any of the tools used.
