Hi, I have a new „Logitech“ webcam, (relatively) cheap version. Ive tried every available combination of lighting background and settings (using it in mostly artificial light). Im looking for webcam software thats better than supplied version, specifically with more light-control. I have a further problem with „blurring“ images on movement. Ive tried out iuVCR, its quite good with TV card but doesnt give the control I need. It doesnt need to be of super quality but preferably open-source. Can anybody help me out here please?

A few thoughts: Video cameras work best with infrared light. Fluorescents don't work that well.
You might try some incandescent lighting to see how that works.
The 'blurring' you mention may be due to low framerate, not unusual with web cams. If the framerate is something like 1fps, you will have blurring on movement. They likely do this to minimize the video bandwidth for slow connections. If you had dial up, you could see this would be a problem.
But you may be able to make some software adjustments. Be aware the 'other end' will need a fast connection also.
Others may have specific recommendations for Logitech web cams. -
Ive been using normal incandescent lighting, no fluorescents. And the fps is listed as „up to 30 fps“. All I really need is some fine tuning, its not that bad for a „cheapo“ product...and thanks for the help.
