God this is getting complicated......
I think that going back to the beginning might be a good idea. You started off with sound but not video and now have video with no sound. I suggest the following.
Uninstall Pinnacle and Moviefactory and then restore your computer to the point before you installed Pinnacle right at the very start using Windows Restore (Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore). Once that is done (you won't lose any documents or anything, just any software you have installed since that point), install the DirectX update. Before you do anything else, run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Tools > DirectX Diagnostic Tool, then just follow the 'Next Page' prompts at the bootom of the screen).
Once this has completed successfully, then install the Pinnacle software and give it a try. By this time I should have gone to the pub and will be able to forget about it until very late tonight.... -
lol
I shall try this first thing in the morning, and ofcourse, get back to you!!!

Ok, I have now spent two hours on your instructions, and guess what???? No change, all the same lol
I think maybe someone is trying to tell me to buy a new digi camcorder. But i so want these tapes ran off.....
Have you made it back from the pub yet???? Tell me which one your in and I'll call them and tell them to kick you out, your neaded elsewhere lol.
have attached diagnositc report, if that helps..... :P
this is a major nightmare, it cant be that hard to do surely!!!!!!!
dxdiag.txt -
By no change, what do you mean? Are you back to square 1 with sound but no video or square 2 with video and no sound?
Maybe remote access wouldn't be such a bad idea after all...... -
Ok i'm video no sound, but when i tryed it again a wee while ago it just froze, on the pinnacle.
Why cant things be simple lol.
Do you hate me?? lol....
remote! My pc is all yours lol. -
Richard, just found something, it could be the IEEE1394 driver, they dont work with sp2.....only sp1...so I'll try find a driver.
