Hi.
Does anyone have a clue why I get worse quality on Linux when I encode a transport stream to dvd compliant mpeg2 or xvid with mencoder, than I get when encoding on Windows. I use the exact same options with mencoder on both platforms. On Linux, the mpeg2 video is stuttering and with xvid it is very course (big pixels showing). I would really like to use the Linux version, because it runs much faster. Maybe because I run it on 64 bit SuSE 10.3.
I have an AMD 6000+ and a Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard.
I don't get it. Do you?

But are they the same version?
are you checking playback of both with the same software player on the same os?
if yes and yes,
