I got a question about video screen resize question. I own regular tivo. I use tivotogo program to get my videos off the box. Heres my question. It records the screen size as 544x480. Whenever i put say a 1hr 50 video into tmpgenc dvd author it comes up as 5gbs when the edited video is around 2gbs. Is there a way i can resize the screen to 720x480 without converting it. I tried dvd patcher no luck. The format from tivo is mpeg 2. Its dvd quality. Cause any dvd maker program accept it.

No, if you change the resolution it has to be reencoded.

A DVD maker program might accept it, but to make a DVD out of it it'll be reencoded since 544x480 isn't a proper DVD resolution.

    Then lower the bitrate.

Your DVD authoring software may let you set the final outsize size, in which case you can set it to create say a 4.2GB file which can then be burned onto DVD. You could also just open the existing 5GB file with a program such as DVDShrink and let it create a DVD image of the correct size.

This just happens on anything over 1hr in time. I do i dont covert them. I just edit them using videoredo plus. Any half hr shows. Fit in tmpgenc dvd author. The bittrate is 9000000. Its what tivo records at. Also is there a way i can lower the bittrate down through videoredo plus? I know i can with mpegvcr but its gonna take some time for each file.
