funny voices when capturing to mpeg2 using ATI AIW 32 MBDDR

Everytime I capture to mpeg2 using the ATI AIW 32MBDDR the picture is perfect but people's voices are at a slightly higher pitch for some reason. I can't tell if other sounds are at a higher pitch, but when people are talking you can really tell. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to correct this?
