  1. Did you wait for the muxing job to finish? It may take several minutes during which the file may not be played by MPC.

  3. The video uses HEVC. You need a recent player version of e.g. MPC-HC or VLC to play it. I recommend MPC-HC 64 bit for best decoding performance.

  5. So it's Windows 32 bit? Too bad...

But does it play now? What codecs are used during playback (Play->Filters->Copy Filters to clipboard, then post here)? What is MediaInfo of original file before you removed the track? Maybe original file was created with experimental HEVC codec/mkvmerge and is broken beyond repair.

Is that bad me having 32bit? Never had any trouble playing my .avi files before. First time experimenting with .mkv b/c just got a receiver. The original file is on another machine and I deleted it b/c that machine does not have a burner, and was trying to transfer to jump drive, hence the cutting of tracks. I can dl it again, I should have just used this one. I will post what you asked with the filters. I will dl it again if you can not solve from there. And we can go from there, thanks for your effort.

    Filters currently loaded:
    - Default DirectSound Device
    - Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)
    - Audio Switcher
    - LAV Video Decoder
    - MainConcept MPEG Audio Decoder
    - LAV Splitter Source

It's slower for HEVC but it should play anyways.

Then it should probably play. It uses external LAV Video, you can try to force internal or update external to latest version but it should work anyways. Maybe the original file is indeed broken but I cannot answer it at this point - too much guessing. Maybe you have more luck with MPC-BE or VLC. Or someone else can help...

    ,

I will try vlc, then get new file. Do you think that converting .mkv to .avi will effect 1080p a/r or 5.1 channels if slightly than that's ok

I have found another file that works well with VLC. It will not open with MPC. I have split the 2 files using MKVtool. It was .mp4, now .mkv. I am going to try and burn it, but I am not sure that my player will support .mkv or .mp4. I have a converter, but my question is will it retain full 1080p and 5.1 channels. If not please direct me to instructions via this forum, or please provide. Thanks again for your help.
