  1. Is there anyway to break the FAT 32 limit of 4gigs without upgrading to Windows 2000? Maybe a hack for the win98 kernal? a software patch... something. Getting only 15 mins of video sucks and i dont want to shell out $200 for Windows 2000.

    Im using:

    AMD Duron 800
    Asus 630/730 video
    ATI All in Wonder VE
    112 MB RAM
    30 Gig HD

    ATI Multi Media Center 7.1
    Windows 98

  2. Virtual Dub and AVI_IO both allow for segmented captures (you can set the size of file segment, I normally use 1.9GB). Click on the 'Faq' to the left, and look for enable Virtual Dub spill system/multi-segment captures.

  7. actually, you can convert the win9x/me fat32 file system to ntfs with a program called "win9x to ntfs", you can get the program from www.apachez.net.. it worked pretty good for me.. i'm using win xp pro now though, so it doesnt really matter anymore. good luck tho

  8. Just capture less than 4 gigs and encode using tmpgenc and merge them together. that's what i do and it works fine.

  9. You cant break the 4gb limit in Windows 9x or me. What you can do is either switch to a differnt OS or use a program that supports multi segment capture.

I don't think the NTFS driver for windows 9x will allow you to go over 4gb.
