    Hi,
Despite some says I-Author is the best, I must say it's the worst!
You hardly can find a copy at the web, but I've found a working copy (with crack). Then, the only 2 sites who explains I-Author a bit, tells us to install a patch like "iauthor_full", and we've got to search for it at the web ourselves. Doesn't anyone figured out that this file actually doesn't exist at all!? I searched using a lot of search-engines, both warez and legal, but no reference to iauthor_full (accept the 2 sites who mentioned about this file). My conclusion is that this file will be the crack of I-Author.

Then, after installing into W2k, it doesn't work (a lot of DLL-errors apears). After restaging my system to WinME, everyting worked well, untill I tried to create the imagefile. Again some weird Dll-errors (mentioned : MFC42.dll).
So I restaged again, now to NT4-wks. This time no DLL-errors, but now he tells me there isn't enough space at the disk for a specific file. After searching for it, I saw I-Author creates a file in %windir%\temp. This isn't a standard temp-dir of nt4 (I-Author creates it! and there is no way to tell i-author to create its tempory's onto another disk). Because the installation of NT4 doesn't allow me to creat partitions larger that 4Gb, I'm in big trouble now. Or I should try to restage my system (again) and trying to create a partition of 4Gb (now it's 3Gb), and to install as less as possible into the C:-drive, so the required 2.5Gb free space will be available to I-Author, or I trow I-Author into the recycler; with the conclusion, it was a nice try but nevertheless...

Maybe this is why I cannot find anything about it at the homepage of Enreach.com.

Actually I-Author is no longer made or supported by Enreach. Which is why you can't find them & why you'll only fid cracks and/or a cracked version. I did run across a site the other day (of course I didn't write it down) that appears to be bringing back to life. At least it was for sale there.

As far as the .dll errors are concerned... I can only imagine something goes wrong with the installation. I use it often & have never had that type of error message. Could be some other software you install on your system overwrites and/or changes something I-Author is trying to use.

What kind of OperatingSystem are you running?
Only in NT4 it runs a bit, but I had to copy the MFC42.dll of Windows98 to its binary-directory !

I don't think so, I-Author was the last program I installed (and I've many times uninstalled and reinstalled it -- but it was the last one).

    Any suggestions ?

  7. Is it true that I-Author .cif can't be melted wit Roxio EZCD plat 5?

  8. I can't confirm how true it is, but several people have posted that EZCD5 doesn't seem to burn the I-Author images properly.

For these same people, switching back to EZCD 4 seemed to fix the problem.

  9. EZCD5 won't burn IAuthor files - just download CDMage which allows you to convert the cif image into cue/bin to be burned in CDRWin.

  10. After not finding full exhausting help or tutorial for I-Author, I have a question.
I assume that you can delay audio when multiplexing with the Multiplexer. But how? Are those boxes in the left columns where you can put time? What unit?

    Thanks in advance.
    BeTa

I certainly meant my other left... Those boxes are at the right...

yeah you can add a + or - delay while multiplexing. It is those boxes to the left, I assume the unit is in seconds but I've never used it.
