  1. I have a test DVD that I made on the hard drive using GUI For DVD Author and if I burn the DVD, and play in a DVD player, I would like to see something like screenshot 1, where if you just make 1 click on the button, the DVD will play starting at that chosen chapter. However, testing the DVD on the hard drive with Power DVD, I first see screenshot 2, where it is necessary to click the "zhouxun", before you can get to the desired menu with the chapter buttons. Since I only have one video clip on the disk, I think it is unnecessary to have screenshot 2, which just makes the viewer have to make a wasted click before getting to the menu that has the chapter buttons. Is there any way using GUI For DVD Author to have the DVD go directly to the menu that shows the chapter buttons, instead of first going to something like screenshot 2? I haven't burned the DVD yet, so I don't know exactly what I will see when I insert the DVD, but I would like to see something like screenshot 1. By the way, I also tried to use Media Player Classic, and I get the same result, first the "Video Manager Menu" appears, which is what I don't want. Then after clicking the zhouxun, the "Video Title Set Menu" appears, which is what I would like to see right from the start.

  2. Yes, you just need to 'skip' the main menu. It is an advanced function, but quite simple. Just activate 'Advanced mode' in the default settings.
    Procedure:
    Load the MainMenu (screenshot 2)
Right click on the menu background, select 'Menu Properties'
In the 'Menu and Background properties' dialog, click on 'Advanced Pre/Post Command Editor'. In the 'Edit VM Commands' dialog you need to set a 'pre command'. Click in the empty frame 'Pre Commands'. Then select 'Jump'->Jump Menu->'jump titleset 1 menu;' from the menu of the dialog box. This command is then 'entered' as pre command (if you use MuxMan as engine, the command will be 'JumpSS vts_1, vts_ttn_1 : RootMenu' instead of 'jump titleset 1 menu;').
Close all dialogs with 'Ok' and test.

P.S.: As the 'Back' button isn't useful any more, you can 'hide' it. Right click on the 'Back' button, and click on 'Hide' in the 'Edit Button' dialog.

  3. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I AM SHOUTING BECAUSE IT WORKS PERFECTLY. I tried it on Media Player Classic, Power DVD and standalone DVD player with perfect results. I think this should definitely be made into a sticky (how to author a DVD that will show the menu upon inserting the disk and play from start or any chapter with one click total.) I was able to follow your directions (including getting rid of the "back" button, although it was necessary to first print out the directions and study them carefully. One problem I did have at first was I didn't make a "chapter one" and this caused the whole computer to lock up. I did it over and made a "chapter 1" and then every thing was fine. I also wasn't sure how to Load the Main Menu but I figure that out. Now the "title menu" and the ''root menu" are the same screen.
I am curious, where did you find out the info how to do this? I would like to read up more on this topic.
