Hi there i have a FLV video that im trying to convert (any video format doesn't matter) since im trying to combine all 4 parts into one video.

Here's some info on the 1st video.

    VLC Player
    ---------------------------
    Stream 0
    Codec:VP6F
    Type:Video
    Resolution:480x360

    Stream 1
    Codec:mp3
    Language:
    Type:Audio
    Channels:2
    Sample rate:22050 Hz
    Bits per sample:16

    General
    Duration: 0:02:08
    ---------------------------

    FLV Player 1.3.3
    ---------------------------
    Dimensions:480x360 px.
    Framerate:30 fps
    Duration:128,160 msecs.

    Audio codec ID:2
    Audio datarate:40 kbits/s.
    Audio delayno info)

    Video codec ID:4
    Video datarate:225 kbits/s.
    canSeekToEnd: true
    ---------------------------

Now i was able to convert the FLV to either AVI or WMV but as you can see Duration say's "0:02:08" but when the video is converted into AVI or WMV the duration became "0:02:11".

Really the audio is perfect when the FLV plays, but after the convert to AVI or WMV it becomes out of sync.

If any of you can help me out please let me know.

I tryed using many converter software i bought.

1.ApecSoft AVI 3GP Joiner - Output Format to AVI
2.FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter
3.FLVExtract (Freeware product i tryed from here)
4.WinFF (Freeware product i tryed from here)

These programs created the AVI or other type of format but when playing the AVI/Other format the video will be out of sync possibly by a few seconds.

Sync problems, especially in an AVI file, can be very easy to fix after conversion, however sync problems themselves are usually telling you the source has problems.

Try SUPER or MediaCoder. You may need to install FFDShow if they won't process the file.

I tryed using SUPER but that didnt work (yes it did convert the FLV but again not perfectly)

MediaCoder - This Program on the other hand didn't do anything at all to the FLV i don't really know if it understands the FLV or not but i dont know.

I do have FFDShow codec installed.

Anything i can do to get a perfect video out of this FLV

You can try Virtualdub 1.7.X_Test6 with the FLV plugin.

    http://www.virtualdub.org/beta/VirtualDub-1.7.X-test6.zip

    http://www.moitah.net/misc/FLVInputDriver-0_3_0.zip

I use FLVExtract to get a separate video and audio file.

Open the FLV video with Virtualdub 1.7.X.

Check the length of the movie by going to the last frame in VDub.

Open the mp3 that was created by FLVExtract with Goldwave (you can download a trial if you don't already have it) and check to see if the audio is the same length as the video. If it is shorter, go to Effect > Timewarp and change the length to match the video. Click Apply > click OK and save the file as either Wave or mp3.

Insert the audio into VDub using Audio > Audio From Other File > choose direct stream copy if using mp3 or Compression > compression of choice if using Wave > under Video choose Compression > Compression of choice and File > Save As AVI

DarrellS - The Virtualdub 1.7.X_Test6 didn't let me save the AVI.

Even So, i did find a way to fix the audio delay. And i will tell what i did exactly so if others have a problem like this well you get the point.

    Program's Used

    1."FLVExtract" - Download - http://www.moitah.net/download/latest/FLV_Extract.zip

    2."GoldWave" - Download Demo - http://www.goldwaving.com/downloads/gwave522.exe

    3."WinFF" - Download - http://www.biggmatt.com/files/winffsetup.exe

    4."mkvmerge GUI" Download - http://doiop.com/mkvtoolnix-unicode-2.1.0-setup.exe

    Now i think that's everything..

Step 1 - We need a FLV File then we will convert it to AVI with WinFF.
Opening WinFF and selecting the FLV file then click Options. On the "Convert To..." drop down selection pick
"XviD in AVI (4:3)" then select your "Output folder". Next under "Additional Options" i used the following
"Framerate=30,Video Size=480x360" everything else leave blank. Then click "Convert".

Note: I know i could have just used FLVExtract to get the AVI but when i did that it created some weird line at the bottom of the video.

Step 2 - Now that we have the out of sync AVI video file from WinFF. we need to get the audio from the FLV. This is where i used FLVExtract. Open FLVExtract and "Drag & Drop" your FLV into it. (dont forget to discheck Video & Timecodes) after that a MP3 file will be inside the folder where the FLV is located.

Step 3 - Now we need to fix the MP3 file to match the video's duration. So my example will be duration "0:02:11" for the AVI. and the MP3 is duration "0:02:08". I used GoldWave for this.

Step 4 - Open GoldWave, Click Open select the MP3 file that FLVExtract created.
Since we know that the MP3 needs to be 2mins and 11 sec. we will go to Effect>Time Warp> Then By click on Length click the + to make the duration go up to 2mins and 11 sec. After that click the green play button then Apply then OK. Then we will save the MP3 so go to File > Save.

Step 5 - Okay we have our AVI Video that is out of sync and the non-out sync MP3 file.
This is where "mkvmerge GUI" was used. Open "mkvmerge GUI" click Add selecting the AVI video.
Then we will also add the MP3 file. So click Add again and select the MP3 file. Now under the Tracks you should have 3 Tracks. 1 Video Track and 2 Audio Tracks. dis check the middle audio track. which would be called
"MP3 (ID 1, type: audio)" then at the bottom "Output filename" remove ".mkv" and replace it with ".avi"
    Then click "Start Muxing".

This is how i was able to fix the audio delay.

i hope this is a okay way of fixing it... i don't really know..

Virtualdub should have created the AVI if you followed the directions correctly. If you tried to direct stream copy the video then it won't work since Virtualdub is not intended to create FLV files, only AVI (make sure that smart render is not selected also).

You are using way too many steps. You don't even need FLVExtract if you are going to use Goldwave to fix the audio. Just use Virtualdub 1.7.X with the FLV plugin, save an uncompressed wave file, fix the wave file with Goldwave, reinsert the fixed wave file back into virtualdub and compress the video to DivX or XviD and compress the audio to mp3.

    Why complicate things?

What you said doesn't even make since. So this is what you want me to do.

Step 1 - Open Virtualdub 1.7.X with the FLV plugin, save a uncompressed WAV file.

Step 2 - Open Goldwave, open the WAV file created by Virtualdub 1.7.X to fix the WAV file.

Step 3 - Put the WAV file back into Virtualdub and compress the video to DivX or XviD and compress the audio to mp3.

Okay now here's the thing. if i followed these steps. you never said how to compress the video since you just said that Virtualdub 1.7.X will not create a AVI out of a FLV. and why im i puting the audio back into Virtualdub?... and when do i get to combine these ? you left out alot of infomation and really VirtualDub didnt help me at all with anything. (not saying that its a bad program or anything) But really what your saying is just confusing the hell out of me so i just wanted to get a nice clear Step by Step from you lol. and no im not a newbie to video editing. i have done things like this before very very alot.

Now the reason why i didnt use Virtualdub was because it created a WAV why do that when i could get a MP3 using FLVExtract? why not just do that ?

    1. Use FLVExtract to get MP3 of FLV.
    2. Fix audio with GoldWave.

Sorry but im just suriously confused from you "DarrellS" (Note: im not trying to say anything mean or anything im just having a bad time trying to understand what on earth your steps are.)

Do whatever the hell you want to do.
You are obviously the expert here. I don't know why you even bothered to ask for anyone's help if you have all the answers.

I'll use my way since it works perfectly well for me though.

BTW, Your reading skills are terrible.

If you have sync problems when converting flv to avi, try the following
    1. Use FLVExtract and see the fps it reports as correct fps (you can also calculate from the time code file it generates).
2.Adjust fps as above and adjust audio delay to make video and audio length (time) equal.

It has worked for me with both flv1 and flv4 files.
