    Having problems here. Just bought myself a hdmi dvd player and bought an hdmi cable today however when i connect everything up there is no picture then i wiggled the cable and up came this multicoloured picture split in two screens. Therefore i have been back to the shop for another cable to check and the same thing has happened could it be the dvd player ??

    Did you change the video output type in the DVD player setup menu?

    Sometimes you neexdto hook up the player via composite or S-Video to do the initial setup of the player before you can use HDMI.
