  4. Ok so many things to try - I'll just start listing them

for the DivX that won't open in TMPGEnc - first cover all your bases make sure you have all the codec's that might need installed. Try the krystal pack ftp://ftp.dvd-wizards.com/Vcdhelp2/kscodecsv433.zip

then go into TMPGEnc and make sure your Direct Show filter listed in the VFAPI plugins is set to priority of 0

then if it still doesn't open in TMPGEnc try to open it in VirtualDub - the error message in VirtualDub will usually tell you what your missing - if it does open in VirtualDub then just frameserve it from VirtualDub to TMPGEnc

as for the problem with the WMV - extract the audio to wav using dbPowerAmp http://admin.dbpoweramp.com/ --make sure you get the extra install for WMV -- then let TMPGEnc use the WMV as the video and the extracted wav file as the audio - that should fix the freezing

If you still have problems after following the above then - give us more details - such as what VirtualDub said when it wouldn't opent the AVI

I'd bet you will be a-ok if you try all the stuff I listed

  7. I don't get the part about letting tmpgenc mpg use the wmv as the video and then use the wav as the audio please explain.

  8. After you extract the audio from the WMV - you will then have your original WMV file and a WAV file.

Open TMPGEnc - put the WMV in for your Video Source and then put the WAV in as your Audio Source

this way TMPGEnc only uses the WMV for the video conversion and we are hoping that the problem you were having converting it in TMPGEnc was in the audio stream - if that is true then the conversio should run just fine.

  10. I don't have anything more to suggest

not everything can be fixed - there is no fix program for bad WMV video streams
