Hey all,
Not posted here for a while but I wondered if anyone might be able to help me here
Having covered a number of confrences recently I have been mastering wide master/audio master direct to laptop/desktop HDD via DV repeater
Are any of you folks aware of a capture card/box that can similtaniously capture say 3/4 DV sources? to HDD master?
Any help greatly appriciated
Best regards
Pete

Our Enosoft DV Processor is designed to do exactly that.
You can connect multiple DV cams to a PC (you'll want more than one FireWire interface)
You can synchronize the capture from each camcorder - you just need to press one button to start each capture. You end up with multiple files that are fully synchronized
If you have multiple locations and a wireless network, you can control the capture for all locations from a single computer. e.g., if you had a camera near the podium and another at the rear of the auditorium, you could connect each to a laptop. One could control the capture process for both and, if you use external drives, you could simply connect both drives to a single PC later for editing.
Currently, this multicam capture requires some effort on the user's part to configure but an upcoming version of the software will provide a much simpler interface for this particular purpose.
If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me at infoATenosoft.net
(Note, the software requires a processor with SSE2 instructions - for Intel that's pretty much anything since 2000.)John Miller -
Cheers for the info Johnny
I look into asap
My processors in both machine I use regularly are SSE3 which (I guess) is adequite?
Also processor is Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2130 @ 1.86GHz, 1867 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) on the laptop, not so sure on the desktop, I'd need to check but defo comparable.
I can see that kinda setup working well for us to archive a show for offline edit, however also wondering about ways to facilitate a live vision mix in a similar fashion and archive each cam at the same time? Some sort of push/pull chain I guess...dunno perhaps slightly of topic
Re DV transmitors reason I ask is that we are currently using a jib for one of the cams which extends upto 4 metres, I heard that transmission of the signal is possible but I've never came across the hardware as yet, have you yourself?
Thanks again
Best
