  2. You may have used the wrong field order when encoding.

  3. The_Flash is probably right with regards to the fields. There is even a simpler method for proper encoding then whats at "doom's"

Go here http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/all_downloads.html and download a little program called BitRate Viewer. Install it, open the a vob of the main movie. Click the reading button to stop the program. In the bottom window it will tell you alot of things. It will tell you if the movie was encoded with a top or bottom field. Most of the time it is top field.

Also you need to go to the gop section and for intervals you need to type in 1 and for frames you need to type in 18. This to can make a difference in how your player decodes. In the quantize tab select mpeg standard and in the YUV select it. This will give you better color.

If you have blockiness in you encodes select under the quantize tab soften intra and non intrablock and go for a value of about 10-30. 30 if you are compressing the dvd movie alot.

This should get rid of the jerky frames.
