    Hi guys

I'm in desperate need of a region hack or code to change the dvd region of my in-car dvd player. Its a Pioneer AVH-P5900, currently set to region 1.

Can anyone help me make it region free

    thanks

Not all players can be unlocked ("hacked"). This is especially true of specialty players (specialty = car players, VCR/DVD combos, Home Theatre in a Box, etc.). Unfortunately, you have a specialty player.

    Hi, thanks

I was wondering if its possible to take it to a service centre here in Australia and get them to install the applicable firmware - at the very least to Australian DVD region code. Would this be advisable or even do-able?

The Australian version is called the AVH-P5950 as opposed to 5900.... surely a firmware change/upgrade is a possibility to resolve the issue!!!!!

It would be worth a try. I've seen posts from other users where the automobile manufacturer was able to update the firmware for their new region. Note that the unit will then only play the new region. I haven't seen any auto players that are region free.
