Hi all, I encoded an mkv file (the video part is XVID) to DVD. Well now I got the effect of interlaced COMB effect when I played in regular DVD player on regular TV (when there is movement the comb effect is more apparent). It never happen before (usually the effect can be seen a little bit when I am editing in tmpgenc but will not be seen on TV). Any tip on how to minimized the effect? I am using tmpgenc Express as usual. Thanks!

Just a by product of your conversion process. I had the same issue when using AviNet to convert DVD to avi. Switching to AutoGK solved my problem.

All I'm really saying is to try a different tool for the conversion. Of course, I am sure someone here has more experience with tMPGenc and can assist you with that tool.

Thank guys. I will try alltoavi. BTW is there any advantage of encoding the video in progresive mode? I mean I put tmpgenc to always deinterlace and progresive? WIll it play in ordinary TV with non-progresive DVD player?

Edit: Is this tool to convert all to AVI? I want to make mpeg2 (so it can play in regular DVD player) so I need to encode it again after I convert to avi?
