Looks like that tool converts files for use in a PS3. At least the notes state ONLY for PS3.

Should work for xbox 360 also but not all mkvs will work, it depends on the video codec and video settings. Maybe try latest tversity as media server.

  4. Did you make sure to check "Split over 4GB". I had a few files that wouldn't work and it was because the final output was over 4GB. Even playing through the network this seems to be an issue. Reconverted with that option checked and everything works fine. I have a 100% success rate after converting 9 files.

  5. Another thing to check. And this is especially true if none of your PC programs can play the resulting .MP4 file. Make sure that the file name is simple. I've had a few files where the name was very long and "complicated" and the file wouldn't play on the xbox or on my PC. You can't simply rename the .mp4 file, you must rename the original .mkv file and reprocess it. I guess one of the program's along the way can't handle the name and messes it up.

churchie have you by chance noticed any of the mkv files that have subtitles embeded causing any problems. trying to watch eastern promises and the mkv has english subtitles included, i know gotsent puts these in the mp4 even though currently the ps3 and the xbox360 cant read them. but in all the other movies ive converted so far i dont remmember any having subtitles. or it could just be that the output file is over 4 GB like you said. all my others were just under 4 GB. im trying to split it now ill post back with my results.

  11. Any luck with Eastern Promises? It may have been the 4GB file like you mentioned. I have converted a few files with subs included, and none have cause problems.

hi! i know this is a little off topic but im just thinking if maybe any of u could help me.

so ive been using gotsent (version 0.24 beta 6) for a couple of months now and it has worked out pretty well so far. i have already converted a bunch of videos and most of them are playing perfectly on my xbox360. well my problem occured when i was trying to convert an mkv hd video that was encoded to have the 'russian' & 'english' as the audio track choices with 'russian' being the default audio track. just to be sure, i tried playing the video using the 'english' track and its working really well so i thought maybe i could proceed then to conversion. so i opened the GOTsent program and saw that i can choose which audio it will use for the final converted video so i chose 'eng' (which i suppose meant to be 'english' since the other option was 'rus' which i think means 'russian'). when it finished converting, the language of the final converted video was still in 'russian' and apparently, that's the only audio track that it has. i already did it twice and double checked to see that i chose 'eng' but still, same result. i hope somebody can help me out. thanks in advance!!!
