  1. Hi there, you guys! I just recorded a iso (video) today using my brand new LG GSA-H62N (Sata), and it was fine and fast. When i was going to recording the second image, this message pops up (on dvd decrypter, and a similar one, when i try to use dvdfabdecrypter to burn the same iso):

    http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=erroris6.jpg

I also have a pioneer dvd-212D, Sata too. When the LG burning failed for the first time, i used the pionner to record that same iso, and, it was recorded ok. Then, when i returned to the LG to record another iso (only to check if the nightmare with the LG unit was over), well, it did recorded fine, the iso (i have 7 iso video files to burn).

BUT, everytime i try to use the LG unit from now one, it gives me the same message!

    http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=erroris6.jpg

I'll try burn dvd video_Ts folders with the LG unit, or even data (cd and dvd), to see if it records fine). Soon i'll post the update here.
Please, anyone can help? It is hardware or software failure? Or both? Thank you so much!

  2. 1.Use ImgBurn to burn,DVDDecrypter is outdated.
2.Update the firmware in the LG: www.rpc1.org
3.Use quality media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DLP.

  3. Just tried to burn the video_ts folder (i used winrar to unzip the iso file into video_ts folders... i did that with dvd shrink too) of one of those isos, and this message pops up:

    "PMA Update failure"

    Sigh...

  4. Where are you getting these ISO files? It sounds like they aren't DVD files.

  5. Thanks a lot for the reply. Well, those are isos a friend from another country gave me by ftp. (but i generated a iso, using dvd shrink, using a dvd of mine, and the same thing happened, using the LG unit plus dvd decrypter)
Well, i'm worried because even though dvd decrypter is old, my new pioneed could simply record right away those isos, by dvd decrypter. And in fact, the LG did recorded too using dvd decrypter, a couple of times, before those problems started (even dvd fab decrypter, that is newer than dvd decrypter, gave me the same error advice, using the LG driver). I did what you suggested, i used imgburn, and it did recorder perfectly, using the LG driver. I'll simply try to burn some data, using the LG driver plus Nero, to see how it goes. I'll update here soon, with the results, thanks for the help.

I just used imgburn, and it burned ok! But i'm still worried... i'll always have to used only imgburn on this driver...? Here's the log: (hum, it seems that imgburn does a verification first, before recording, or it does a verification after...? Anyway, can i turn it off, or that's a bad idea?)

from your log you posted the media id is crappy CMC which is why you're having problems. as mentioned already use TAIYO YUDEN or VERBATIM dvd media. you'll be surprised how quickly your burning problems will go away by using good quality dvd media. you can choose not to have IMGBURN do a verification by unchecking the box.

Hi. Well, i'll try to find those medias... even though i've NEVER seen those ones in my city... i usually can find sony, maxell, benq, elgin, nipponic, philips, and the multilaser, the one i'm using right now... the thing is, it was a 100 hundred discs pack, i'm already burn it 80+ of them, all sucessful ones, not a single coaster, using my 6 years ooooooollllld LG driver... now i have 2 new Sata drivers, and only one works, the new LG give me more coasters than good recordings, sigh...). Here, i just tried to burn some simple data, on the LG unit:

    http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=morepmaerrorja5.jpg

The same "PMA Update Failure"... what the he$% is this "PMA Updatr Failure", after all?!

  9. So... Multilaser IS a bad media, indeed...? I just used an old dvd-rw Maxell to record some data, on the LG unit using Nero, and it recorded alright. But i think i'll try to change this LG by another Pioneer, IF the store allows me (i bought 9 days ago). The pioneer is way faster, and recorded even with Multilaser "bad" media. I can't be confined with this LG... it's hard to find good media on my city, and if the Pioneer can accept even the "not so good ones", i'll have to change this LG to a Pioneer. IF those problems are really cause by bad media, cause like i've said, the LG recorded 3-4 times, using the multilaser medias.
