I am attempting to convert an AVI movie to a burned DVD. According to the how to I have first converted the movie file to the DVD ffmpeg format. At this point the movie plays fine with sound and all. Then I go to convert it to the disk img file using the img tool. The resulting image file is only roughly 2 GB as opposed to the DVD ffmpeg format which put out a 4 GB file. Then when I use VLP player to watch the img file I only get video and no sound. What am I doing wrong?

Also one more note if this helps, the folder Audio_TS contains nothing, but wen I play the movie from the Video_TS folder it has sound.

This shouldn't happen. The img tool images a UDF formatted DVD from the VIDEO_TS folder, and the img file should be slightly larger than the VIDEO_TS folder, because of overhead.
Note that the img tool may put the img file inside the DVD folder, so don't compare the DVD folder size with the img file size, as that would double it!
VLC and Apple DVD Player should be able to play the VIDEO_TS folder, as well as the mounted counterpart of the img file.
Please confirm if you selected the parent folder of the VIDEO_TS folder for imaging with the img tool. And remove the img file on a second try, as it doesn't belong inside the parent folder.
The only way that I can think of for getting video without audio, is if you try to play the .m2v file (which is video only) in VLC.

An empty AUDIO_TS folder is normal for DVD-Video. The AUDIO_TS is only in use with DVD-Audio discs (very high-fidelity audio, e.g. 96 kHz sampling rate audio discs).
