So with all the software that comes out every year, will they ever come out with something that will magically (yes, it would have to be magic to do this) create a viewable youtube video converted to DVD, and played on a tv set?
I know that ConvertXtoDVD (i think that's what it's called) is supposed to be able to do this, but of course, you would never get a good, clear, high-res picture from a youtube video. Of course, i am not "in the know" when it comes to all that's involved in bitrates and stuff. I know basic bitrate stuff, but looking at a youtube video, most are not of very high quality anyway, so like i mentioned above, it would be magic, something miraculous. This is the season of miracles, so anything is possible with converting vids, right?
Anyway, happy holidays everyone!

Maybe...but yes, it must be magic because it has to recreate image information that isn't in the source video. But hopefully will youtube upgrade to h264 video and higher resolution in the future...but then we all have HD so then we want HD-quality.
But please change your subject title, I shouldn't need to open the topic to read what it's about. -

To reiterate what the others have said because people that post this kind of question don't seem to be paying attention...
The problem is that YouTube quality is ALWAYS garbage. hech54 is correct. YouTube was designed to "just work" and quality was NEVER part of the goal. You are starting with garbage input when you get something from YouTube and as we say, garbage in - garbage out. You can convert YouTube videos to various formats, but nothing will ever look better than the crappy YouTube original at best.
I have a few YouTube videos that I converted to VCD format. The quality is horrible, but it's of an old musical group that isn't very popular these days and there really is no commercial source for these videos. We just accepted the bad quality because it's either have it in bad quality or not have it at all. There are limits to what consumers can do in converting videos. -
With Flash now adding H.264 support, anything's possible, assuming several factors all come together.
