Converting to MP4 from WMV problem

I just bought the winavi video converter and i tried converting a WMV file to MP4 but after its done converting, it still seems to stay as WMV. What am I doing wrong?

Didn't you try the demo before you bought it? I would try something else like Super, RipBot264, Nero Recode.

you can also try AutoMen

but remember to specify the framerate since wmv is often vfr
