Hello everyone, my 1st time posting here. My problem is when I click on a video wmv.cfm it tells me I have to download a plugin. Well I downloaded the plugin which was windows medial player firefox plugin and re-started my computer but it still gives me the same message when i click on the video file. Install plugin. What else am I missing?

.cfm is a webpage extension like html.

So the real question would be what is the actual file type that you are trying to open. Webpages often have wmv, flash, or java video imbedded. You would of course need the appropriate plugin for each different type.

Have you tried opening the page with IE instead of Firefox?

Thanks for answering and sorry I didn't post it in my first message, but I am using netscape to open the link and also tried Interner Explorer. Both gave me the message need to download plugin. It's a wmv video I am trying to view. When I clicked on the download plugin it automatically began downloading wmpfirefoxplugin-1. So I assumed thats what it was looking for. Thanks for helping.

Sounds like your WMP setup and/or wmv codecs are corrupt. You can try reinstalling whichever version of WMP that you are using and/or you can download and install the latest wmv codec pack from Microsoft.

Another choice would be to install another player such as MPC would should also have the latest codecs. Most likely you've installed something (media player, codec pack, etc.) that has corrupted your wmv playback capabilities.
