  1. I've posted this under a different title, but perhaps this a better description of my problem.

I have a downloaded version of Lord of the Rings which I believe is in PAL format. Therefore I have used TMPGEnc to convert it to NTSC. To get TMPGEnc to open the file I had to change some settings. I was able to get TMPGEnc to open the file by going into Options/Environmental settings and changing the priority of the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader from 0 to 1(under VFAPI plug-in). This got me something that I could burn to VCD and looks very good. Unfortunately, about 10 minutes of the audio(near the beginning) is being dropped, but the 10 minutes being dropped is in the original file I have. Any suggestions? Before I changed this setting I was getting an "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order" and couldn't open the file. Everything looks great except for this missing audio which is in the original file I have. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  2. Have you tried to decompress the sound to a wav file and use this as audio source?

This is what I have finally done after checking around on this site. However, on a similar note, I have been trying to decompress the sound to a wav file on another file for the same movie and virtual dub tells me that there is a packet synch error on the packet stream. The file plays so I am not sure what to do.

    Thanks,
