  1. I'll try to give a short overview on what I'm trying to do....
I'm backing up one of my favorite TV on DVD sets, but I'm also going through and editing each episode, taking out stuff that isn't funny, so the whole show flows better and is funnier. Anyway, I was planning on just making a basic menu for my backup, but now I'm pondering on something else....

Is there anyway to extract the video from a motion menu, and turn it into an .avi or .mpeg? I'd like to use the original main menu from my dvd, but I don't know how to get the video "out" of the menu. I hope this makes sense...

I'd appreciate any suggestions, so I can figure out if this is do-able or not...
    Thanks!

It might be even easier than that. There are guides for replacing whole sections of existing DVDs. Wouldn't it be simpler to take out the episode, edit it, then put it back in place of the original so the original menu can be used ?

I'd think so. Just extract and edit your episodes, followed by making little DVDs out of the results of each (Muxman). Then get the edited episodes back into the original DVD using the "Replace" button of VobBlanker. That way you keep the original menus and anything else in the originals you might want to keep (extras).

If you really want to extract and mess with the motion menus, read my guide about how to do it, and you might change your mind about the project:
