  1. Hello !

I used the tmpgenc dvd author serie for a long time without any problems to make dvd, but with the version 3, i don't find where I can choose to NOT compress the initial MPG file to make it to VOB ! Everytime it compresses, taking lots of hours, and altering my quality, when I'm sure that the original size is ok for the dvd size ...
    please help !!

Never had a problem with 3 doing files so long as they are compliant files to begin with. If your file input is not compliant with the format you are trying to compile to then it will make it compliant. Perhaps you are using the wrong input setting (file mode rather than VRO/VR mode). Please give us an example of what you are trying to do so we can help you.

  3. Infact I 've already made a dvd with compression , so now the size is ok, perfect ! But there are mistakes in the menu, so I try to make the menu again, importing the whole dvd (so the files are compliant, it's already VOB) I make the new menu, and when I try to make the outtput, it compress again, it wants to take 7 hours to make it, when other versions needed 25 min for this ...

Is smart rendering enabled? This is what should check wheter your input files are already in the correct format.

I usually use TMPEGEnc to create MPEG-2 files and never had a problem with smart rendering. I use version 3 too and one thing that annoys me is that smart rendering absolutely fails at Div-X files when trying to create Div-X ultra files. It always reendcodes the files which takes as you wrote half a day or so. That sucks.

But back to your problem I must admit that I've never tried to reauthor a DVD like you do. You could try to "convert" the VOBs back to MPEG-2 files. Did you create the DVD you are tryting to reauthor with TMPEGEnc DVD Author too?

I believe Smart rendering is enabled, if it is in the track settings / video /encoder mode

  6. Now I'm (almost) sure I'm in smart rendering mode, but why the outtput mode is so long, 7 hours, with a preview .... when the other versions needed at worst 45 min !!!
