So i can create a perfect dvd rip. all 8 something gigs of it(using DVD decrypter). then i shrink it down (dvd shrink 3.2). To play the files right now i use alchol 120%. Alchol 12o makes a virtual drive that makes my comp think that the dvd is in my computer and i can open it up using a dvd player program. The problem is that is kinda anoying it takes about the same time to do this as it does to go and put the dvd in. I was just wondering if there was a way to just go and click on the iso image and it would open up some program and play it. The help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. matt

if all you need is speed.... don't shrink it, leave all the files in a VIDEO_TS folder and put that folder in another with the name of the movie. software players will play it directly from there.

Why not rip to a video_ts folder and windows vista media center should be able to play that folder(You add the folders to you "My Videos" section and then open the folder which contains the Video_TS folder and it will play) ?

Or are ar you talking about any other media center??

no its vista media center. What i basically want to happen is this. I have the main computer in one room with two extenders for other tvs. I want to be able to play the my home library movies from the two extenders and the computer like they were from the origional dvd. That is the my goal the computer details that you see is going to be finished being built today and will eventually have two media center extenders that i want to play movies and music from. If that makes sense.

for ease of use and keeping things where you can find them use what i said before. make a folder in your video folder with the name of the movie, but use either anydvd or dvdfabdecrypter to copy the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders into the one on your comp. they can be played from there and with this method there is no loss of quality.
