I recently tried converting a movie (from .avi to .vcd or.mpg) but however I found out that the movie must have some type of code....since there are lines and a bunch of square pixels....and it screws up everything.Could you please tell me how to get rid of that??? 8)

those are mpg artifacts it sounds like. if your using TMPGenc (you should be for VCD) change the motion search precision to a higher setting. anyting with a lot of motion will have them though. That's mpg.
