Is there is a dvd slideshow software that will allow me to skip forward and go back to pictures in a slideshow with the skip button on the dvd remote? I tried Photodex and the skip button goes to the next slideshow, fast forward will navigate the pictures.

    I'm using Vista.

I haven't found one. Most (all ?) of the slideshow programs basically just generate a video, a'la Photostory or Memories-on-TV. They aren't interactive in any way. To do what you want to do you need to create your slideshow either using menu pages for each image (limiting you to 99 images per show) or short clips and button-over-video (bov). DVD Lab Pro can do both of these, and most good authoring apps can the do the menu type show, but none of them automate the process. It has to be done manually. That said, it's not complicated, just time consuming.

The only way that I can do that is to create the video in ProShow, import it to TDA (or your favorite authoring program) and insert chapters either at each photo, or at a regular interval - you're still limited to 99 chapters.

That's what kills me. Both of my slideshow apps have a limit of 99 pictures for each slideshow. It always
left me with the impression that I was somehow missing an option somewhere on the program that does
exactly what the OP (and many others) are asking for....but no dice.

  5. When exporting from DVD slideshow GUI to Gui for dvdauthor, setting up one image pr. menu is done automatically and you'll be able to go back and forth on menu buttons. There is no limit of 99 images. Included in the export is the slides as a video and menus with acces to chapterpoints(max 99, but divided over the entire slideshow if there are more slides than 99).

If you don't want the video/chaptermenus they can be deleted in Gui for dvdauthor.

A flash tutorial on the export: here!

(The is a (max number of buttons)bug in DVD slideshow GUI in the 16:9 export, so use 4:3 untill I get that fixed)
