I was wondering if anyone started using this DV editing software called VirtualEdit? It will input mpeg2 and DV files and make avi files to be used in its time line then you edit your piece and output at AVI or DV-AVI types 1 or 2. I could not get it to import mov files, it says that directshow does not support mov. I just started to use the free version of it and I am impressed how stable it is and for a basic editor it seems to work. It had a very small foot print on the hard drive too. We actually compared the quality output to Avid Liquid and thought this output was better. I think the paid version gives you more bells and whistles. The software does not seem to pass closed captioning line 21. Any comments from anyone? Thanks.
PS.. I wanted to add that this software can capture in DV from a DV deck via 1394.
