I've downloaded a quicktime movie, via stream recording. When i go to play it (media player classic) "i get fail to render" I play mov files all the time,i.e. movie trailers that's not the issue,so my problem is during ripping these streams something is getting lost in the process.Does anyone know of an application that can solve this or a method of sorts.I know of media fixer apps but all i've come accross fixes everything but quicktime files.

    Any input is appreciated.

Try open it in mpeg streamclip and if it works save as a new mov or another video format.

In reality, so-called media fix programs only fix a very small number of very specific issues. Most cannot fix anything but minor problems.

Perhaps more detail on how you rip the streams might lead somewhere
    Read my blog here.

    This is the page

    http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/TUTORS.9.0.html?act_session=323

    I've also tried this

    http://lbis.kenyon.edu/sca/collections/media/okfire/

These types of mov streams are tricky to download, they use a rtsp: protocol that not all download managers can get. This is my normal recipe...

I use the winpcap (packet capture)
    http://www.winpcap.org/

I use url snooper for a frontend to winpcap
    http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/urlsnooper/index.html

For downloaders i either use Net Transport or HiDownload, and when they fail i use
a cacheing program called assniffer http://www.cockos.com/assniffer/ which caches (creates a copy)
of all traffic flowing to your computer.

I can actually get these files, they just don't render.I've dragged them onto Gspot, nothing.

    P.S.
Forgive for not hyperlinking correctly,i suck with this brand of forum.

I have already seen some .mov files that simply cannot be
watched outside of a web-browser window. Maybe that's
    the case.
