Hi. I was wondering if there is an option for an external HD capture device to go usb or firewire. I'm in Ireland and am planning on getting Sky HD in the near future.
I would like component or if possible HDMI input and what software would you need to capture 1080i or 720p? Would dual-core, 2gb RAM and 2ghz laptop be able to handle that capture?
Thanks for any help.

I think this will work (but check to be sure)

Minimally, the site above is the defacto DVB shop in Europe, so if not that product, they'll have what you need.

Thanks for the info and links.
It appears that site only has tuners. I'm looking for a way to connect to a HD DVR and just press play on it and record on the laptop, much like I do now for normal DVD quality. Component input is probably the best choice. I was going to go for the ADS tech Pyro A/V which has component but appears cannot capture 720p or 1080i.
Thanks again. -
That can never work because you are limited to SKY BOXES from BSkyB ONLY!!!
