  1. I used to have XP Preview Beta version, I had installed ATI TV-Wonder and Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro, both worked with very few limitations, I just got the XP proffesional version from the store (beta expired on me)
    Everything else is the same.

Now that I reinstalled everything neither ATI TV-Wonder nor Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro work (I only need one to work)

Windows won't start at all, before selecting user it goes to the blue screen, saying that stability has been compromised and that windows will be shut down for safety.

I've already tried both of them on different slots, nothing. Any ideas?

  2. has windows been giving you that ever since you did the "upgrade" or only since you've reinstalled your capture cards?

  3. This just happened now that I'm trying to reinstall either card on the public release of XP Pro

Both on them worked fine on the beta version (XP Professional).

  5. Yes, other than the fact that when i insert either card and windows doesn't start, the system operates very well.
I have several programs installed already and have been working with them for over a week.

  6. Well, I fixed it.

I have Abit VP6 motherboard, I guess that has some issues about sharing IRQs per PCI, manual says about IRQ sharing between AGP and PCI Slot1, USB and PCI Slot4, HPT370 and PCI Slot5.

I swapped my Firewire card (from PCI1 to PCI5) and then put the Studio TVPRO card on PCI4 and changed my network card from PCI5 to PCI3.

I have my Guillemot sound card on PCI2, the Network card on PCI3, capture card on PCI4 and firewire to PCI5

What a mess, but it works now.

XP should be able to identify and let us know that there has been an IRQ violation or throw a freaking clue about IRQs.
