  1. Is there any program that can convert a WMV movie to AVI? Actually, I have some WMV files and I want to convert it into AVI files for some website development purpose. If you know any good program then please suggest me.
    Thanks in advance!

    Some later incarnations of VirtualDub can open some versions of WMV. (And save out as AVI.)

    The safest way still is to put a "DirectShowSourced" Avisynth script
    between your .WMVs and VirtualDub.

    { http://www.avisynth.org.ru/docs/english-traffic-exceeded/ }

    Safest bet is probably 2 steps:

    1. WMM, open WMV file save as DV-AVI (type1).
    2. Virtualdub/AVISynth/etc., open DV-AVI crop/edit/process and save as AVI of choice.

    Not knowing your specific needs for your web application, this may or may not be appropriate advice but you might want to consider Flash instead of WMV. It's hard to beat Flash for web video applications these days.

    First step, find out the details on the .WMV format file that you want to convert. Suggested programs to use:

    GSpot
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=gspot&Submit=Search&s=&orderby=Name&hits=50&...uthorfeatures=

    MediaInfo
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools/MediaInfo

    Conversion software:

    ALLtoAVI
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=alltoavi&Submit=Search&s=&orderby=Name&hits=...uthorfeatures=

    You will need to play with the VIDEO BITRATE or QUANTIZER to get the quality you want. This is where GSpot and MediaInfo come into play as you compare the source .WMV file specs against the destination .AVI file.

    Enjoy your web development
