    Hello!

As the subject already says, that's my problem. Tried different (de)muxers from the tools page, but no success. The problem is that I need to mux some mpg and ac3 files rendered in Sony Vegas, but no muxer accepts those mpg's. And when demuxing a DVDA compiled dvd, then (I got the whole video nicely down and merged by Elecard xMuxer Pro) Vegas doesnt recognize that mpg!

What could be done, cause in the last case, file was originally rendered in Vegas, but after going through DVDA and Elecard demuxer, not its not compatible. I mean, its the same file. I've heard something about editing file header to make it compatible, but is it actually possible? Theoretically, it must be.

Or is there a de/muxer which can handle Vegas rendered mpg's

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Srivas

    rejig will also do it

Or you could render to elementary streams in the first place.

    Hi.

TmpgEnc does not recoginze mpg's rendered in Vegas, it requres el. streams. I tried Rejig, but the output m2v file was unplayable. My KMPlayer (which has played back all the formats so far) said that no combination of encoders could do that.

Is there some options to tweak or what should i do?

As I understand, for muxing you have to have elementary streams. What does it mean? I met this term for the first time while trying to mux my files. And how to render one?

    Regards.

Elecard = horrible products. I would blame this right away.

  6. Why are you trying to multiplex those two files produced by Vegas? Will you later use them in Vegas DVD architect?

I have an archive of dvd disks with mpg and ac3 streams ready for DVDA authorization. So I want to be able to mux any of those dvds, whenever I would like to see them on my computer or show them to others, instead of going through DVDA and burning a dvd. So thatswhy.

One way could be to found a player which could play these two streams simultaneously. Is there any?

And as far as demuxing goes, I have one DVD, rendered in Vegas and compiled by DVDA, but no original video. So I would like to extract the streams to back them up and be able to edit them in the future in Vegas, but have no success yet, no program is able to demux them to Vegas compatible mpg.

Media Player Classic can play back separate audio and video streams, although seeking can be a bit hit and miss when doing so. Playback is fine though.

You can render elementary streams directly from Vegas either individually, or by using the batch render script.

If you already have an authored DVD you can use PGCDemux or DVD Decrypter to get back to elementary streams.

I have used rejig to extract streams from Vegas encoded mpg files in the past without issue.

Ok, I finally got solved my dvd demuxing problem!
And solution is too simple to even consider. Somehow I could not get back to mpg and ac3 streams, maybe its the fault of Mainconcept encoder, no above recommended program could do that, but what I did is that I simply copied VOBs from the disk to my HDD and I can easily edit and merge them in Vegas. Thats it! There will be a small gap between the VOBs, but I can mask it with some still frames and audio stream I have.

    Problem solved!

    Thanks for the help though.

I have some new questions arising from that discussion, but I feel like its better to open a new subject for that.
