Hi everybody,
I want to buy a DVD player. I usually use computers to play DVDs, so I'm new to this business.
So, here follows the info.
Country: Buying in Netherlands, but should work in Romania (it's a present). Should therefore play European DVDs / region 2 (I think).
Budget: under 100 EUR. Preferably lower than 80 EUR.
Requirements: (besides basic video DVD playing)
1. (of course) quality and reliability; reputable brand.
2. JPEG display; MP3 rendering (from DVDs and CDs); preferably DIVX rendering capability (from CDs & DVDs)
3. should work with older TVs, if possible (my folks at home have an old Nokia 72cm diag, I think it's from 2000-ish). If this is a very restrictive or crippling requirement, then ignore it, there is also a 2006 TV in the house (but it's the secondary TV). Standard TV though, no digital input.
4. as small as possible (needs to be transported by plane, and that means taking it ON the plane, in the backpack -- the luggage porters would destroy it if it's in the checked baggage). Let's say, preferably the area of a 15 inch laptop or a little larger, and slim.
5. remote control (I suppose they all have it?)
6. Black color, but silver is not a deal-breaker.
7. EU-wide warranty & service would be nice... but I think that's not so easy.
About the video capabilities, I have no idea. I just want it to play standard DVDs. If there are other desirable characteristics, please let me know.
I don't care if it's in a store or online, btw.
Thanks in advance for any help.
