i'm using catalyst drives 7.10, computer specs in my profile
my ps2 is connected via composite VIVO to my x1900xt
i've used various programs such as MPC, Dscaler, VirtualDub and VLC to play, but all have horrible quality. The image is very jagged, out of focus, blurry, the text is unreadable.
MPC and Virtual dub gives me shit for resolution, 720x240. Does this have to do with the image being interlaced? Does it cut the resolution in half because only half the lines are drawn or something? I can have the image fill a 4:3 window and it fixes the window size, but the quality remains horrible.
Here are some screenshots, i can't play like this!
media player classic:

dscaler, also won't allow me to change the resolution because the option is grayed out, and i'm using overlay not D3D:

it looks pretty much the same in all the other programs, IE blurry, jittery, shitty, shitty shitty!
also, i can't install ATI's MMC because after catalyst 6.x only first party video cards let you install the program.

I had that same problem with the resolution being 720x240 by default. You should be able to change that in virtual dub under video > capture pin.

Try virtualvcr, lot better than virtualdub for setting resolution.
