Hi, Im doing a live feed streaming from a local TV channel on their website using VLC. The question I have is related to the control of the live streaming.
Is there a way to monitor the concurrent connections to that stream, and also is there a way or a script that limit the concurrent connections, for example after 50 connections are established on the stream the 51 incoming conection would see a message "Please try again later, all our available streaming connection are occupied" or something like that.

Thank you in advance, Im sure this will help a lot of people now and in the future.

    Cheers

Theres many users in the videolan website asking this same thing, the moderators say this cant be done by VLC Player, my question is not regarding VLC itself but any other tool or script that can be applied to any video stream through internet to control, monitor and/or limit connections to it. Thank you

Well it seems that the brave person to answer this question isnt born yet. Neither here or in the VLC forum, but let me share with you my findings.

    I found this: http://www.viscomsoft.com/products/videocaplive/

Its an activex control that could be incorporated into a custom build application in many programming languages that result on a video stream server able to control the number of incoming connections allowed, and also monitor in real time the current connections an many other features. The bad thing is that it isnt free, but it gives a 30 day trial period.

As I was able to surf through many forums in search for this answer I could noticed that there are a lot of people wanting to do this same thing, I hope this helps.
    Regards
