I just bought a Canon XH A1 and Final Cut Studio 2.
My question is, when I record in 24f is there any problems
when useing Final Cut Pro Studio 2? My friend said
to watch out because it won't sync, or there are many
    issues that come up.

I was just wondering if you guys could help me with this
since you seem to have the answers for everything.

And thank you by the way!

From this web page with the camera specs: http://www.cineform.com/products/WafianHR1.htm

" Canon's XL H1 provides HD-SDI output in both 60i and 24F modes which the HR-1 can record. In 24F mode, the XL H1 adds pulldown into the stream when sending the signal over the HD-SDI port, which the HR-1 removes. The resulting captured files are 10-bit 24p CineForm Intermediate."

Adding pulldown is probably what your friend was advising against. Their software removes it, others might not.

No it's not the pull down, it's more the frame rate where the issue comes in.
Something to do with un-even frame rates or something.

Thanks for your help, however that gadget cost way too much for my
    small and humble studio.

FCP can import and edit 24p natively. Its when you export to non 24p formats that you run into troubles if arent doing it properly. Theres a whole section in the manual that walks you through how to do it right.
