Title says it all, but let me elaborate:
I use Xvid, Fairuse 2.5.
I let Fairuse pick the type of material and use about 500mb/2pass per hour.
No matter the type, I end up with a picture, that when motion starts, it appears to de-interlace - as if it's missing ever other scan line.
When I copy the avi to a dvd and play it through my Oppo DVD player, the video is BEAUTIFUL.
What am I missing?
Also dl'd video ripped from DVD's is always ok, that only difference I can see when running it through GSpot is it's 25fps not 29.

Try using divx ? install latest xvid? Then there is no problem really, is there? What softwares are you using to play back? When I copy the avi to a dvd and play it through my Oppo DVD player, the video is BEAUTIFUL.
Detail your steps, also try alternative tools and report back.

I've always thought it was in Zoom Player, but it seems to play that way even in Divx's player no matter what computer - makin' me crazy - I've a HTPC with 100's of shows and I've got to burn a DVD-RW to really appreciate them.
