I'm trying to add a commentary to a DVD without changing the menus. Here's what I've done so far:

    Demux vobs with PgcDemux
Add audio track and mux with muxman

I know the next step involves the replace command in VobBlanker, but that's where I keep messing up. I think I want to replace PGC#04 of VTS_02, but whenever I try to do that I get the following error: WARNING: The stream ID=2, included in replacing VOB was not in original IFOs. I've tried searching for the error, but even Google failed me.

There's one other wierd thing. This VOB has 4 PGCs and all but one of them has "yes" in the reuse cells column. I'm not sure what that means exactly. I think it might have something to do with the Play All option. I don't know. The help files mention reused cells, but none of the guides seem to.

Should I be trying to replace the play all PGC, or what? I'm lost.

  2. Yes, you can (usually) only replace the one that doesn't have the "yes". And all the ones with the "yes" also have 0 MB size? Were you trying to replace the one without the "yes" when you got the message? And if so, could you go ahead and replace the original video anyway? It always gives a warning when there's something different about the replacing video. I've had that warning lots of times (although I haven't added any audio tracks to the video) and it warns, asks if it should change the IFOs to reflect the change, and then goes ahead and replaces.

You'll probably have to "turn on" the new audio track using PGCEdit if and when you get VobBlanker to process the DVD.

Yes. The ones with the yes have 0MB size. Yes. That's when I got the message.

Well that complicates things a bit. The audio track's for the short version.

How do you "turn on" a new audio track?

  4. After successfully adding in the new audio track and processing, the DVD will still show as having only one audio track. To make it show the new commentary track, open the finished DVD in PGCEdit. Double-click the video in the left part of the screen. In the new screen that opens, under "Audio VOB Streams" in the top center, you'll see only the first line darkened, while the other 7 possible audio streams below it are sort of greyed out. Hit the second one down (Audio 1) and hit "Set". OK back to the main screen. There is a row of icons across the top of the main screen. Hit the one looking like a green reel of film (the Domain Streams Attributes icon), and it'll ask something about wanting to fix the number of audio streams. Say "Yes" and in the new screen you can assign a language if you wish, specify it as commentary, and assign the right number of channels (none of which has anything to do with whether or not it'll play afterwards). Then OK back to the main screen, Save, and Test. Your new audio should show up now.

I could be wrong about what I'm about to say next (but I don't think so). Someone correct me if I am. The PGCs in the VTS must all have the same number of audio streams. You can't have an additional audio stream for only part of the VTS (unless you also create a silent track for the rest of them). You could try blanking out the other cells - the ones you didn't create the new audio track for - processing, and then adding in your track and processing again.

It worked when I replaced the one with filesize. Then the subtitle issues hit. I had to split them and remux them. They work now. Thank you.

The audio's messed up again though. I know I muxed it in. It was in vobs. Then I used VobBlanker to replace the movie again. I know I turned it on or at least I followed the steps with PGCedit to turn it on.

Then, DVD Shrink said the filesize was 0MB and it didn't turn up on my test burn. PgcDemux can't find it. I don't know where it went.

Is there any way to add it back to the DVD without remuxing and recompiling, or am I back to square one?
