    Hey Bud,

Try using the SOURCE RANGE function prior to encoding. See an example in Sefy's Classical DVD rip guide for Newbie's or in Baldricks DivX to VCD in the new news area.

  4. Using the source range (and batch encode) makes life MUCH easier. However, if you want to cut an MPEG either bbMPEG or Wobble are the best choices IMHO.

  12. TMPGenc freeware ?

Hi the copy that I got is telling me
"You can use MPEG-2 function as trial for more 25 days."

It started out at 30 days. MPEG-1 doesn't show this.

    Version: 2.02.31.119
    Core version 1.80.116

    Anyone else seeing this?

    UpDate:

Just found this at TMPGenc's site in the FAQ's

    Question - MPEG-2 encoding No.6379
    Juefo ( Mail ) 2002/02/01 (Fri.) 02:06 ( IP:62.104.210.87 ) [ Edit / Delete / Reply with quotation ]

While trying to encode avi to mpeg-2 i receve the message:
    MPEG-2 trial period has required
What is the reason for this message and what is to do?

I too have the exact same problem. If anyone knows why please let me know.

Seems like I'm not the only one ;-(

  13. because like the pop-up says, they can't distribute a mpeg2 encoder for free so there is a 30 day limit. mpeg1 has no such limitation. If you search the forum you'll find a registry solution to your problem.
