there seem to be some neo-nazis making up there own rules and refusing to help newbies.
as per the forum rules as written and posted.
Fair use / Backup When you own the media, they are the rights you get automatically DESPITE what content providers or laywers might tell you. These rights are fully supported by the crew at VCDhelp and are the basis for most of the site. These fair use rights evaporate when you sell the media in question.
Backup You have the right to make A backup of your media. You can back up as much or as little as you wish.
Format shifting You have the right to convert your media to another format.
Time shifting You have the right to time shift or stream your legitimately received cable, tv or satellite signal for viewing at a later time
in order to facilitate and follow the spirit of these rules, as posted, questions about removal of css, mv, etc. need to be answered.
if there's a problem with that then the rules need to be changed by the head honcho not the little indians.

Well, some of us little indians ("nice" term there btw) know that everything may not be legit when the help request is prefaced with:
"I downloaded this movie..."
"I borrowed this DVD from a friend (rented, stole, etc) and am having trouble ripping it..."
With this site, as well as most others, you get what you pay for. You say "refuse" as if people are obligated or payed to dole out answers. This is a discussion board, so a person's participation and the content of that participation is entirely up to them.

supreme2k - the help you are questioning is also covered in the forum rules and is not the same as what's covered by what i posted. maybe it's been awhile since you read them?
sorry 'm not a PC kind of guy.... would "native americans" be a more acceptable term in that kind of allegory?--

Well then, what's your problem?
I have not seen anyone really refuse to help legit requests, other than directing them to the guides rather than direct help. This topic stinks of unfounded whining. I'm sure that you have a problem with lordsmurf's thread, so why not air your grievances there?
I hate to self-quote, but:

chill - i include myself among the "little indians" and everyone else but the bald one himself.
and yes i find smurfette's thread offensive and voiced my opinion there. if the "site" wishes to change the "rules" so be it, but until the rules say so, the mods shouldn't be threatening to ban folks for their questions that are allowed by the current rules - no matter if it's there first post or not.--

On the other hand, the mods and admin can do whatever the hell that they want. I don't think that they'll be 'threatening to ban anyone, but rather just ban them. They're (mostly) pretty damn fair here, so I expect that there won't be any dispute over the why of a banning (for whatever reason, not just this thread).
It always cracks me up when people have a dispute with lordsmurf and almost always use "smurfette" as an insult, as if a smurf is so manly in the first place. I'm sure he's crying himself to sleep when his fictional alias on a message board is derided. Anyway, I gotta go. Someone just referred to me as "Stupreme"
