Whenever i go to play certain videos through windows media player, videos which i think are encoded by variable bitrates, the picture colors are all crazy. To give you an idea, it is like when you open a picture in MSPaint and then click "invert colors".

I tried clicking update in the WMA menu but it does not do anything. This is windows media player 9 by the way.

Any suggestions on what i can do to fix this will be much appreciated.

Update to a newer version of WMP or give up on it and try some other players. I don't ever use WMP for anything. VLC or others seem to do a much better job. JMO.

Yeah i updated to WMA 11(10 wouldn't install), and 11 seems to work properly.

Edit: I really, REALLY prefer the look/style on earlier WMAs though.

You might look around the net and see if you can use 'skins' for WMP that might change the appearance of the interface.
