Well I'll tell you the problem I have and sorry if this isn't the right place for it

converting avi to dvd using? So far I've tried converxtodvd and cucusoft, what do you guys recommend out of the bunch?
    convertxtodvd
    cucusoft
    xilisoft
    avex
    or other?

As far as burning goes I have, is there anything better?
    nero 8
    magiciso

For disc I'm just using compusa dvd-r, can it be the disc that's causing the problem?

What is the perfect setup for converting and burning?

Also what are other possibilities for me having this problem, could it be the cd burner I'm using?

So I convert then burn and I keep getting the bad dick error on the dvd player well 2 different dvd players. What do you'll recommend to remedy this situation? I'm tired of converting and burning crap for no reason...

    Thanks in advance

  2. Real sorry to hear about that bad dick error, but this is the wrong forum.

If you are burning DVD's on a CD burner, that could be an issue.

Cheap crap Compusa media will most certainly cause problems, get some good Verbatims or Made in Japan disks.

IMGBurn for both imaging and burning.

Read some Guides for better methods, but most are concerned with video quality. You haven't got there yet, but you will.

To eliminate bad dick problems, avoid the cheap stuff, limit the number of slots you stick it in to, use protection, keep it clean, polish it yourself if necessary, and remember, you get what you pay for.

From the converters you listed, ConvertXToDVD, no doubts.

Burning, ImgBurn. Free and usually better than any others.

DVD media the problem? Fairly likely. We see that as the most common problem. Easy to test, just try a few different brands.

If you are converting videos off the net, ConvertX>ImgBurn>Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DVD media.

DVD burner the problem? Possibly. What brand and model is it? But I would try different media first, along with ImgBurn.

    And welcome to our forums.

EDIT: I'll move you to the Newbie Conversion Forum.

The dvd player is a tsstcorp ts-l532m (samsung) and this on it http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/279491

And the compusa DVD-R reviews are here http://reviews.compusa.com/2795/1214335/reviews.htm

It's interesting that one 45 minute piece went threw the process ok with cucusoft and nero not perfect but it plays 1 out of 3 tries. Anything I've tried since then has ended in tears.

So you guys are saying there's no way possible that it's the conversion process right? avi to vod using the convertxtodvd? Also I'll try that burner and see how that goes if anywhere...

Do you guys have a list anywhere of reliable media?

Took me a minute but I got it!
