ok. I got this movie file and its in img form, ready to burn onto a dvdr to play on standalone dvd players. I've burn it and watch it on a standalone dvd player w/ my big screen T.V. everything is fine, accept there is no audio. When I pop the dvd in my laptop to play using HPquick play or Windowmedia DVD player, it plays but no audio as well, HPquickplay gave me a message it said
"DTS decoding is not supported by this version of quickplay, please select another audio track or this will play in mute". But when I use VLC player to watch the dvd, everything is fine w/ audio. Anyway I was wondering is there a way to I can convert, decode, or redecode and then burn it again,so that I can watch it on standalone DVD player w/ Audio? thanks..

Not all DVD players can do DTS decoding. You might have to convert the audio into AC3 or MP2. It's doable, but it's a lot of work. Consider plunking down a few $ for a better DVD player.

    1) Demux the audio from the VOB files with DGindex (make sure you also demux the video to M2v

    2) Convert the DTS to AC3 with DAudioK

    3) Remux the ac3 with the M2v with Rejig

You'll need to either burn the IMG to DVD, then work with the subsequent VOB files on the disk, or try to "unzip" the IMG file with CDmage http://www.geocities.com/cdmage/

Just out of curiosity, do you have your DVD player connected to a DTS decoding amplifier via a digital (optical or coax) connection ?

Sorry, but I don't understand your anwer.

If your DVD player is connected to a DTS decoding amplifier via digital connection and you are having these problems then something is wrong.

If it is not connected to a DTS decoding amplifier then you can't listen to DTS audio unless your player can decode it. Very few players decode DTS themselves. The vast majority will only send it out as a digital stream for a decoding amp to play back.
